This quilt block is super quick and easy to finish since all you need to do is create half-square triangles. If you already made HSTs before, this will be a breeze. There are different ways to make it, but for this one, Jenny Doan will teach you how to make 4 at a time. There is also a technique to make 8 at a time, and that method is called magic 8.

Easy You’ve Got Mail Quilt Materials

  • 2 layer cakes (one solid and one printed)

How to Make You’ve Got Mail Quilt Pattern

Step 1:

Place one solid and one printed on top of each other, right sides together. Sew all the way around, then cut diagonally in both directions. Press them open toward the dark side. Repeat with the other squares.

Step 2:

Get three half-square triangles of the same pattern, then one with a different pattern. Arrange them just like in the photo below. Sew them like a four patch and press flat.

When you are laying them out, make sure they are pointing on the same direction.
