I’ve always believed that denim will never go out of style. It’s a timeless fashion favorite. I’ve been wearing jeans since I was a kid, and have accumulated quite a collection of different styles. I am planning to declutter my closet and let go of the old ones. Instead of throwing them away, I want to give them a new life, by using them as decorations around the house.

I wasn’t sure what craft projects to make, so I searched online. I found this video by 1 minute craftsy and thought it was the perfect project to make with my old pair of jeans. Aren’t these flowers beautiful? I can place them in vases, or use them as a napkin tie or hair tie. You can also use it as an embellishment for your bags, hats, or dresses. There are so many options to choose from. Here’s how to make a pretty upcycled denim flower bouquet.

Cut a strip of denim using your fabric scissors. Brush the wrong side with glue, then wrap it on the skewer.
Cut several pieces of petals using the template below.
Get one small denim petal and add hot glue on the bottom edge. Stick it to the end of the stick. Repeat several times starting with the small petals slightly overlapping them just like in the photo below. Repeat the process with the bigger petals until you have a flower.
Cut some leaf shapes from your denim fabric, then glue on the stem.
