Instructions

Step 1:

Cut the pipe into several 5/8 inches long. You should have 140 pieces.

Step 2:

Place wax paper on your work surface. Glue 9 rings in a row with silicone. You need 5 rows. Once done, glue the rows together. Make sure everything is squeezed together and that they are aligned properly. Wipe off excess silicone. Make another one.

Step 3:

Repeat step 2 but this time you’ll just need 5 rings for each row. You’ll still need 5 rows. Repeat to make two pieces.

Step 4:

Remove sharp edges from the rings with a deburring tool.

Step 5:

Cut the angle bar the same size as the height of the 5 rings glued together. Make 4 pieces.

Step 6:

Glue the angle bar on the sides of the 5×5 rings. Let them dry completely. Once dry, glue the 5×9 on the sides to make a box just like in the photo below.

Step 7:

Drill two quarter-inch holes on the top center on the 5×9 rings.

Step 8:

Make a hole on the 4×4 the same size as the metal post. Mount the base to a regular piece of plywood, then into the 4×4 post. Next, attach a piece of wood on the edge of the wood for the top to make an angled roof. Apply varathane to both pieces and on the wood for the roof.

Step 9:

Glue the top, then attach the roof using screws. Place the ring box in the base. Drill holes that match the holes on the rings. Use the bolts and nuts to attach them to the base.

Step 10:

Measure the inside and take a quarter of 2 1/2″ off the length and the width. Make a glass tray in that measurement.

Step 11:

Add birdseed to the tray and assemble the bird feeder.
