Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 150 ml of milk
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter

Directions:

Step 1

In a bowl, whisk 1 egg. Next, add 150 ml of milk followed by 3 tbsp of sugar and 1 tsp yeast. Mix thoroughly. After this, place a sieve on top of the bowl, then put 2 cups of plain flour. (Put 1 cup at a time, then sieve it properly.) Next, add 1/2 tsp salt, then mix it thoroughly. After this, cover it, then leave it in a warm place for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, place the dough on a floured surface and knead it. Lightly stretch the dough, add 2 tbsp of butter in the center, then knead the dough again. Knead the dough until it smoothens, mold it in a round shape, then cover and set aside for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, place the dough again on a floured surface then roll it with a rolling pin. (Sprinkle some flour on the dough too.) Put butter on top and spread it across the surface. Fold the dough into three, then roll it with a rolling pin. Put butter on the surface again. Next, gently roll the dough using your hands and then cut it into pieces.

After 60 minutes, brush each dough with egg or milk, then place them in a baking tray. Put them in a preheated oven of 340 degrees F and bake for about 25-30 minutes.
