It is filled with tons of flying geese quilt blocks that are tangled up, hence the name.

Making this block is super easy. Even beginners can easily follow the steps. You will learn how to do the flying geese and snowball corners and use the chain piece method to make the sewing process faster. It’s a great project to learn the basics of quilting. Get two contrasting strips and line them. Cut 4 pieces of 2 1/2″ by 4 1/2″ rectangles. Next, cut 2 1/2″ squares from the stack.
From your background fabric, cut 4 pieces of 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles and 8 pieces of 2 1/2″ squares.
Each of the colored rectangles will be paired with the solid rectangles. Sew them together with a 1/4″ seam allowance, then press them open. To make the process faster, use the chain piece method.
Take one of the opposite color squares and place on the end of the background side. Snowball it by sewing diagonally towards the center on the short side of the block just like in the photo below. Repeat with the other side using the background squares.
Repeat the process to make four pieces.
Arrange the four pieces together just like in the photo below. Sew them to make the block.
