Isn’t this pattern beautiful? I am sure you were also amazed when you saw this starstruck quilt by Missouri Star. This pattern definitely catches everyone’s attention. I absolutely love that the tips of the stars are striped. In the center of the block, there is a gorgeous cross that looks like an Irish chain quilt. If you made that pattern before, I am sure you can see the resemblance.

You can make this star block into a big quilt by combining 4 stars together and adding the border. If you have extra star blocks, you can turn them into baby quilts or centerpiece mats. This pattern is also great for Christmas. Just use the colors green and red. I am sure you will have fun making this easy sewing project. Add this to your collection if you love star patterns.
Get the background fabric and cut it into 8 1/2″ squares and 2 1/2″ squares. Cut them in half diagonally. You need four triangles for each block.
Get the 2 1/2″ strips and leave them folded. Cut the selvage end and place the binding tool. Cut on the diagonal end. Rotate the ruler then cut again. Save the excess fabrics for another project. Arrange them in two stacks with the same patterns.
Get one from the stack and sew a 2 1/2″ square on the straight end. Repeat with the 2 more. Press them open.
Take the 8 1/2″ square and one of the shapes. Place it on the side so it curves in toward the fabric. Sew it in place. Add another one with the 2 1/2″ square and lay it on top. Sew in place just like in the photo below and press open. Repeat four more times.
Get one of the triangle and lay it on top with the sides aligned. Make sure there is a 1/4″ hanging on the ends. Sew it in place. Repeat with the other side. Now you have the block. You need four of this square to make the star.
Arrange four squares together to make the star.
