This potato peeling life hack is something that I have been missing out on my entire life because it makes peeling potatoes easier. Peeling potatoes can be dreadful and time-consuming, but my grandma told me at Thanksgiving when I was preparing the mashed potatoes there was a life hack on how to speed up the process. So, I went looking for a video, and it was true. I think this is a clever trick to try out at home.
You don’t want to cut too deep into the potato, but just enough to cut through the potato skin. Try to meet up the line evenly on the other side.
Boil some water in a kettle, and pour it over the potatoes in the pot. Leave the potatoes to cook.
Drain the potatoes over another pot to keep the hot boiling water. Then, run the pot under cold water for a few seconds that it is cool enough to pick up. You would be able to see the cut mark around the potato and use your fingers to gently pull the skin off. Add the peeled potatoes back into the boiled water to heat them up.
In conclusion, using this method you would be able to peel potatoes really quickly, and I was so shocked after watching the full video. It’s going to be so easier now for me not to have to think about the hassle of peeling potatoes with a peeler if I am making a big batch of mashed potatoes.
