When I found this easy Southern Hello Dolly bar video recipe tutorial by Southern Living, on YouTube, I had to try it! I grew up calling these types of bars “Magic Bars”, but they have been called Hello Dolly bars for many years in the Deep South, I assume that name is from the famous Broadway play starring Ethel Merman, and later movie starring Carol Channing. I love the title track “Hello Dolly” by Louis Armstrong as well. The recipe requires 20 minutes of baking and is made using only 7 ingredients, it’s so easy! I forgot to say these bars are absolutely so delicious, I cannot wait to make a batch!

  • 2 cups of crushed graham crackers
  • 1/2 cup of melted butter
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • A parchment-lined baking dish
  • 1 cup of pecans
  • 1 cup of coconut
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1 can of Eagle Brand Milk
