I always wanted to learn how to make Wendy’s chili at home because it’s my absolute favorite. Then I saw this recipe by The Magical Slow Cooker. Of course, I have to try it. This surely did not disappoint. The flavors are exploding in each bite. It’s crazy how easy it is to make my favorite dish. Just cook the ground beef in a pan, add all ingredients to the slow cooker, and let it do its magic. How amazing is that? If you want to try this at home, keep on reading or watch the video below.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs of ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 medium-sized onion (diced)
  • 2 celery stalks (diced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (deseeded and chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 30 oz of diced tomatoes
  • 30 oz of tomato sauce
  • 8 oz of green chilies
  • 15 oz of canned kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 30 oz of canned pinto beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of dark chili powder
  • sour cream and shredded cheddar for topping (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1:

Place a medium-sized nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook until they are no longer pink. Once done, remove excess fat, then transfer to your slow cooker.

Step 2:

Add the diced onion, diced celery stalks, chopped green bell pepper, minced garlic cloves, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, green chilies, kidney beans, pinto beans, apple cider vinegar, and dark chili powder into the slow cooker. Stir everything until well combined.

Step 3:

Cook it on high setting for about 4 hours or n low for 8 hours.

Step 4:

Once done, stir it again, then use a laddle to scoop it into individual cups.

Step 5:

Top each cup with a dollop of sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese. Serve and enjoy while hot!
