Instructions

Step 1:

Tighten the hose and the nozzle, then turn on your water prior to turning on your pressure washer. Once your pressure washer is primed, turn it on and use the clean nozzle. Start removing all the first and grime. Take your time and due diligence – make sure that you are not damaging the wood as you’re cleaning it. Back up a little bit and try to avoid any fraying. Once you are done, let them dry for at least 24 to 48 hours.

Step 2:

Wear your respirator and go all over the surfaces with 150-grit sandpaper. This is not a mandatory step but it provides a professional look and feel to your fence line. You don’t need to produce a perfectly smooth finish, just clean the faces of each board. Apply plastic to the back side of the fence, especially if it’s in your neighbor’s yard.

Step 3:

Stir the finish a little bit and fill the sprayer. Attach the nozzle and test it on a test sheet. Once you like it, move to your fence and work in sections. Once the first section is finished, grab a large block brush and do a once-over on the entire cedar. When doing this, make sure you have a consistent few days at least without any precipitation. It should be at least above 60 degrees. Once you are done, remove the plastic at the back.
