Everyone seems to want to grow their own food these days, and raised garden beds are by far one of the easiest ways to do it. Recently I found this awesomely cheap kiddie pool raised garden bed video tutorial by Roots & Refuge Farm, on YouTube, and it looked really simple and perfect for my needs.  A really cool advantage of this kiddie pool, raised garden bed is the fact that you can plant small plants, such as herbs, around the edge, as well as using the middle area. Also using a soaker hose is a great idea, that will keep those cinder blocks moist and that will water your kiddie pool garden like a professional irrigation system. All-and-all, this kiddie pool raised bed system is really a great idea for a multitude of reasons.

Materials For The Kiddie Pool Raised Garden:

  • A kiddie pool (Dollar General, Walmart, or the local hardware store would be a good place to find a cheap one)
  • 3 50 pound bags of soil will fill the pool
  • Plants (this shallow bed is perfect for leafy greens, broccoli, cauliflower, squash, peppers, and so much more)
