Materials:

  • bicarbonate of soda
  • water
  • a glass
  • old toothbrush

Directions:

Step 1

Fill the glass with enough water (just below half) and put some bicarbonate of soda. Mix the mixture with the toothbrush. Keep adding bicarbonate of soda until you formed a pasty texture. After you achieve the pasty texture, let it sit for a while to let the bicarbonate absorb all the water. (The mixture is approximately 20% water and 80% bicarbonate of soda.)

Step 2

Now it’s time to apply it to the soles of the shoes. Make sure to avoid the areas in the soles that you don’t have to restore or unyellow, like carbon fiber. Cover the whole yellowed area in the soles and make sure to put a generous amount of the mixture. After this, take the shoes outside and let them sit under the sun for about half an hour. After about half an hour, take it inside and brush off the dried-up mixture using the same toothbrush. Use a bit of hand soap and water to brush off all the excess mixture and dirt.
