How To Make Pecan Praline Candy

I remember back in the day when my Grandma used to make us pecan praline candy, it was incredibly sweet and tasty! Even if we’re all grown up now, she would still make us this sweet candy whenever we visit, but now that I live quite far from her because of work, it became pretty difficult to visit often. It doesn’t help that I miss both her and her sweet candy recipe. Earlier this week, while casually browsing the internet, I stumbled upon a recipe by I Heart Recipes on YouTube. I got excited and decided to give it a try to see if it tastes as good as what my Grandma makes, and it did not disappoint! I’m planning to make more again this week, it’s that good.
Ingredients:
- 1¼ cup of chopped pecans
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- ½ cup of evaporated milk
- 2 tbsp of salted butter
- ¾ tsp of pure vanilla extract
Directions:
Step 1
Prepare a pot, then add in the milk, brown sugar, and granulated sugar, stir it until well combined. Bring it to a boil over medium-high heat. After boiling for about a minute, add in the pecans and butter, stir them until fully combined and butter has melted. Let the candy reach about 240°F degrees by using a candy thermometer.

Step 2
Remove the pot from the heat, and add in the pure vanilla extract. Stir all of the ingredients together until uniform, then let it cool for 3 minutes. Then, stir the mixture until it starts to thicken. Grease your sheet pan with butter or cooking spray, then spoon the mixture onto the sheet in preferred sizes. Let the candy cool and harden, then serve.
