How to Make Caroline Lily Quilt | DIY Joy Projects and Crafts Ideas

Flower patterns are so beautiful and enjoyable to make just like this Caroline lily quilt block by Stitch style by hafsa. This consists of 3 flowers in different colors, all connected to one stem. It may look complex, but it’s actually not! I am sure it will look gorgeous when you make it into a big quilt. Watch the video below for full instructions.

Materials:

For each flower (3 sets for the whole block):

  • 2 pieces of 2 1/2″ colored square
  • 1 piece of 2 1/2″ white square
  • 1 piece of 2″ colored square
  • 1 piece of 2″ white square

For the stem:

  • 1 piece of 4″ brown square
  • 1 piece of 4″ white square
  • 2 1/2″ white strips
  • 1/2″ green strips

Instructions:

Step 1:

Make the flower. Get one of the colored squares and cut it in half diagonally. Take one of the triangles and cut it in half again to make two smaller triangles. Repeat with the white square.

Step 2:

Take one small colored triangle and one small white triangle, and sew them together to make a bigger triangle. Repeat to make another one.

Step 3:

Sew one big colored triangle to one of the sewn triangles to make a square. Cut off excess. Repeat with the remaining pieces.

Step 4:

Arrange the blocks and 2″ squares just as shown below.

Step 5:

Repeat steps 1 to 4 to make a total of 3 flowers.

Step 6:

Make the stem. Place the brown square on top of the white square. Fold in half diagonally and cut.

Step 7:

Get one of the flowers and sew 2 1/2″ strips on the straight edges. Cut excess to make a square. Next, get another square and sew a 2 1/2″ strip on the bottom. After that, sew them together. For the last flower, place it upside down then sew a 2 1/2″ strip on the side. Get one of the white triangles, and sew it beside the last flower. Sew the top and bottom together.

Step 8:

Rotate the block so that the white part is facing toward the bottom. Fold the sides of the green strip and sew it from the bottom of the middle flower to the outer edge. Cut excess strips. Next, sew green strips to the remaining flowers, just make sure they are aligned.

Step 9:

Take one of the brown triangles and sew on the bottom. Trim off excess.
