This tutorial is perfect if you have lots of clothes that only need hand washing. It’s not complicated, is quick and easy, and for beginners. Check it out now in the video tutorial below to learn the step by step instructions!

You’ll Need:

  • clean basin
  • gentle/mild laundry detergent
  • clothes

Directions:

Step 1

Grab a clean basin and fill it with cool or lukewarm water. (Don’t use hot water as it can damage some fabrics.) Next, add a gentle laundry detergent (use a mild brand that is designed for hand washing) and mix. After this, put the clothes in the water and gently wash them. Use your hands to move the clothes around in the water, but be careful not to stretch or damage the items.

Step 2

Once done, let the clothes soak for ten to fifteen minutes to give the detergent time to penetrate the fabric and remove any dirt and grime. After this, drain the water, then rinse the clothes thoroughly in cool or lukewarm water. Make sure to remove all traces of soap from the fabric. Next, squeeze out any excess water from the clothes gently (don’t wring or twist the fabric to avoid damaging your clothes.)

Step 3

After this, lay the clothes flat on a clean towel and roll it up to remove more water. Once done, unroll the towel and remove the clothes. Finally, hang them to dry. (Don’t put them in the dryer as the heat can damage some fabrics.)
