  • Peppermint or mint

  • Basil
  • Stevia

What Herbs Can You Grow in Water:

Peppermint or Mint

Peppermint is a great plant that can repel mosquitoes, ants, and bedbugs. Planting peppermint indoors can also make your home smell amazing, and you can use it for your tea or recipes. Simply snip a few 5-inch stems from a peppermint plant, then remove all of the leaves, and leave only a few on top. These herbs do not require a lot of sun or attention to grow.

Oregano

Unlike other herbs, oregano needs more sun and since it’s a woody plant, it will grow bigger and faster. This also means that it would need more nutrients that it can’t get with just tap water, so you might need the help of some water-soluble fertilizer.

Sage

Sage has a couple of uses and has a strong flavor which makes it best for seasoning chicken, pork, beef, duck, or other fatty meats that you want to cook. This herb is part of the mint family which means that it has a cool menthol smell, this also makes it a great herb to plant indoors. It needs moderate sunlight and water, so it grows on almost any window sill.

Basil

You can find this herb easily at grocery stores but they usually die within a few months, so while it’s healthy make sure to replant a few stems in water, then place them in your kitchen window sill, and you’ll have an endless supply of basil. This herb needs about 6 to 8 hours of sunlight a day to grow so place them in an area where they can get a lot of sun.
