Supplies:

  • Vinegar
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Tea tree oil
  • Baking soda
  • Grapefruit seed extract

Directions:

#1: Vinegar

Its acidity is a safe and effective solution for surface mold buildup, the only downside is that the strong smell of the vinegar lingers for a while. To make this solution, simply pour vinegar into a spray bottle, then spray it all over the area affected with mold, and let it sit for about 1 hour. Wipe away the mold and you’re done!

#2: Hydrogen Peroxide

This solution is used in solving various problems including mold growth and is often useful for more stubborn cases. Simply pour hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle, then apply it generously all over the surface, and allow it to sit for about 10 minutes. Scrub the mold away until it disappears completely, then wipe it clean with a damp cloth, and let it dry.

#3: Tea Tree Oil

This ingredient is a natural solution for mold, and it also has powerful anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. Mix together 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil and 1 cup of water in a spray bottle, then give it a good shake until incorporated, and spray it all over the surface. Allow it to sit for a few hours, then wipe it clean with a damp cloth, and let it dry.

#4: Baking Soda

This is a versatile solution that is used in a lot of cleaning hacks, aside from being an effective mold remover, baking soda is also able to absorb excess moisture that also contributes to mold buildup. All you have to do is mix together 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 2 cups of water in a spray bottle, then give them a good shake, and spray it on the affected area. Let it sit for a while, then scrub the area with a sponge, and rinse it with clean water. Wipe it dry and you’re done!

#5: Grapefruit Seed Extract

This ingredient fights off bacterial, viral, and fungal infections with ease and is best used to get mold. Add 20 drops of grapefruit seed extract in a spray bottle along with 2 cups of water, then shake them well, and spray it all over the area with mold buildup. Allow it to soak until almost dry, then wipe the area clean with a damp cloth, and let it dry.
