First, take a table knife or fingers to take the peeling leather off. Try to take as much as possible off until it is not peeling anymore. Next, make sure you add 5-6 layers to make it opaque. Paint on thick layers on the edges where it peels to the original so that it can camouflage the ridge or bump. You can paint the rest of the area of the couch or item so it can perfectly match and blend. Keep layering and use the hair dryer to dry it. Repeat.
Overall, this is a great temporary fix that can prolong your leather couch until you decide to replace it. Although it might not be perfect, it works out to repair or fix anything that is leather such as faux leather on a chair.
