Can cozies come in handy for the summer, and it’s super cute when they’re handmade. Handmade gifts are more sentimental and thoughtful in my opinion. This tutorial by Ninja Bunny Crochet is very detailed and informative. I love how the video is close-up and shows the perfect angle. She explains how to crochet the can cozy very thorough and slow. This is a quick, simple, and fun summer project. Cozies are perfect to keep your drinks cold for the side of the pool, lake, or anywhere if you’re drinking out of a can. I have so much yarn at home that I need to put to use. There are so many creative crochet crafts on my list to work on this summer. I think these are great gifts to create for someone or to bring as a housewarming gift. Also, this is an inexpensive project to start on instead of buying cozies at a store.

Supplies:

  • 100% cotton yarn
  • H (5.00 mm) crochet hook
  • yarn needle
  • scissors

Instructions:

First, place the yarn over the first two fingers, hold it with your thumb and wrap it around the fingers to form an X. Place the hook underneath the bottom strand, turn it around and grab the top strand then pull it up and twist. Watch the Ninja Bunny Crochet tutorial to continue the crochet process.

Then, you can switch and bring in the next color to create a different pattern. In this video, she is making a July 4th theme can cozy. Use any color to customize your own can cozy.

Overall, I think creating these can cozies would be nice to have around the house and to bring out to the pool. I have a bunch from the store or from other people, but these cozies are super creative.
