Your noisy bathroom fan now has an easy fix through this video tutorial by Clean My Space on YouTube. You can save money and maintain your fan so that it lasts for a long time. You’ll never guess how easy and simple it is to do, go ahead and read down the instructions below to find out.

Materials:

  • Nylon bristle dish brush
  • Vinegar
  • Dish soap
  • Foam-backed tape

Directions:

Step 1

First off, you have to remove the fan cover, and the easiest way to do that is by inserting your hands through each side, then ligtly pull it out. You’ll see metal clips on each side, simply squeeze them toward the center until you feel it release from the ceiling. Fill your Nylon bristle dish brush with a mixture of 2 parts vinegar and 1 part dish soap, give it a good shake, then start cleaning the fan cover. Make sure to scrub every nooks and crannies of the cover until every part is all white and clean.

Step 2

Rinse it using clean water, then leave it to dry completely. Once its fully dry, then you can put the cover back in the ceiling. If your fan starts getting noisy, then get a foam-backed tape, and put it around the interior fitting of your fan exhaust cover which will provide a buffer or a damper to absorb some of the noise and shock. Another tip is to start your fan before you get into the shower, that way it’s working while you shower. Once you’re done, leave it on for at least 60 minutes or until the bathroom is not moist anymore.
