Anyone can make this glazed strawberry bread which is not only great for Valentines day, but it also tastes amazing. With only 10 minutes of prep time, you are left with a sweet moist treat, perfect for showing off your cooking skills to that special someone.
Years ago, I had a bakery next to my house that sold a variety of delicious breakfast pastries and bread. On the weekend, I would often walk there with my family and pick out a flavored loaf of bread that we would share for breakfast the following week. Even though they sold all sorts of types and flavors, my family’s go-to was the strawberry bread. Not long ago, the bakery closed leaving me longing for the taste of fresh baked strawberry bread ever since. I truly believed that I might never taste anything like it ever again, devastated as it became almost a staple food in my household. However, when I found this recipe, which looked similar to the bread I knew in loved, I rushed to the store immediately and gathered my ingredients. I was skeptical at first, thinking there was no way that I could make a bread just as good, but my expectations were exceeded by 1 million miles. Now, I make this delicious strawberry bread as often as I used to buy it, which is not only easy to make but it might taste better too.
Begin by taking a bowl and mixing the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together.
Then, using a larger bowl, mix the sugar, milk, oil, egg, and vanilla all together. You should be left with two bowls, one wet and one dry, which you will stir together to create the dough. After the dough is created, fold in the diced strawberries.
Put the dough in the oven for 50-55 minutes at 350°F. While the bread is baking, make the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, melted butter, vanilla and strawberries together in a bowl. Pour in heavy cream or milk until you reach the desired texture.
Finish by spreading the glaze on top of the bread once it has cooled.
This recipe is a personal favorite of mine and I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of making it. For a full how to, watch the video below!
