1. Wear shoes with wide toe boxes

Use barefoot shoes, they are designed to protect your feet without altering your posture or blocking the sensory input you receive from the ground. To check if your shoes have a wide toe box, flip one over and place your foot on top of the sole. It should comfortably fit all your toes with a bit of extra room. You can also pull out the inner sole to check. If your toes spread out past the edges, they will be forced together making the alignment you want to avoid.

2. Use silicone toe spreaders

These fit between your toes to help separate them from one another. 90 people with moderate to severe bunion cases were able to prove the effectiveness of using this small accessory, according to a study conducted in 2017.

3. Wear toe socks

Buy socks that have compartments for each toe. They will allow you to freely move each toe independently and prevent them from squeezing together.

4. Improve ankle mobility

Focus on trying to keep your back foot pointed straight while walking. You can also press your toes into the ground to maximize mobility throughout your ankle joint. While your back leg is extended, slowly bend your front leg into a partial lunge. If you are doing it correctly, you will feel a good stretch all the way up.

5. Strengthen foot arch

Spread out your toes as far apart from one another as much as you can then contract them together with a great effort.
