There are a lot of decor ideas and inspirations that you can find online and they can range from simple to extravagant. But, if you’re like me and want to go all out with decorating without breaking the bank, then Dollar Store projects are perfect for you! One of my recent favorites is this one by Keeping it Simple Crafts on YouTube.
RELATED: Easy DIY Thanksgiving Centerpiece Tutorial
It’s a beautiful DIY project that you can make using a yardstick and other items that you can easily find in the nearest craft store, you can even use leftovers from previous projects if you want. This Thanksgiving decor would be a great centerpiece for your table, but if you like you can also hang it on your walls or doors.
Step 1
Move about 3 inches down the stick, then wrap a pipe cleaner around it, and twist on the left side. Wrap another pipe cleaner with the twist on the right, then add the last pipe cleaner, and position the twist at the center. Move about 4 inches down, then repeat the set of pipe cleaners, and do the same on the other end of the stick.
Step 2
Add hot glue on them so they don’t move or slide around, then place the foam at the center, and tie it in place with jute twine. Cut the assorted colored mesh into 24 inches long, then roll the end about 2 to 3 times, and clip it in place.
Step 3
Start ruffling from the other end until you reach the folded edge, then keep them scrunched at the center as you bring it over to the stick, and wrap it in place with the pipe cleaner on the left side. Ruffle another piece of mesh, then tie it to the pipe cleaner on the right side, and make a plain orange ruffled mesh tying it in the middle pipe cleaner.
Step 4
Repeat this step for the rest of the pipe cleaner sets, then tie the leaf garland along the middle, insert a piece of wire on the bottom of the pumpkin, and wrap it around the middle or above the foam. Insert the floral picks through the foam and arrange them however you want. You can also add some lights around if you like.
