Learn the step-by-step instructions by watching the video tutorial below.
The fat quarter should be 22″ long x 18″ wide. Now, fold the fat quarter along the long edge in half (which is 22″ in length), then cut the 2 & 1/2″ strips using your ruler. You will cut seven of these from the width. Once these are cut, you will then sub-cut each of these seven into 2 & 1/2 x 10 & 1/2″ rectangles. Repeat this process and cut a total of 14 2 & 1/2″ x 10 & 1/2″ rectangles from each fat quarter.

To piece your blocks, select five 2 & 1/2″ x 10 & 1/2″ rectangles from various prints and colors so that you can mix them together and make them look a little bit scrappy. Lay them downwards and sew all the strips together to make your block. Once they’re all sewn together, they will measure 10 & 1/2″ square. Press the seams open. Repeat this process to make the total number of blocks you need for your desired size of the quilt.
