I’ve always wanted to try a quilt project that uses only a background fabric and one main fabric so that I can use a large overall pattern of fabric that I’ve had stored for a long time now. I browsed through the internet for any inspiration that I can try or an easy video tutorial that I can follow, and lucky enough, I stumbled upon this quilt project idea by Carol Thelen on YouTube.

Materials:

Directions:

Step 1

Cut the fabric pieces according to the pattern requirements, then sew the background pieces to the top and bottom of each main fabric strip, and they should all measure 58½ long. Stitch the 12½ inches-long background fabrics to the 31½ inches long main fabric strips, the 6½ inches long background fabric to the 46½ inches long main fabric, the 4½ inches long background fabric to the 50½ inches long main fabric strips, and the 2½ inches long background fabric to the 54½ inches-long main fabric strip, and press them nicely.

Step 2

Now cut 8 strips of the background fabric into 2½ inches wide and 58½ inches long, then lay them in between each pieced strip, and lay one on each end of the pieced strips. Start stitching the pieces together making sure to press them nicely every now and then, add the border fabric, bind, and quilt however you like.
