  • 5/8 yard of background fabric
  • 5/8 yard of binding fabric
  • 3¼ yards of backing fabric
  • Needle and thread

Directions:

Step 1

Cut the fabric pieces according to the pattern requirements, then piece together 3 jelly roll strips using a ¼ inch seam allowance, and trim off the edges nice and straight. Cut three jelly strip sets into six 6½-inch squares, then cut eight jelly strip sets into two 6½-inch squares and two 6½ x 12½-inch rectangles each. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of fabric B or background fabric squares, then lay it on the top right corner of a jelly square unit with their right sides facing, and sew along the drawn line.

Step 2

Once done sewing, trim off ¼-inch away from the stitching line, then repeat the same process on the bottom right corner of a jelly rectangle unit, and press them open. Assemble the squares and a rectangle to form a single block as shown in the video, then sew them together, and press nicely. Continue to make the rest of the blocks using the remaining jelly roll units, then sew the blocks together, and then quilt and bind as desired.
