Easy Moroccan Star Mini Quilt Tutorial

While watching various videos and tutorials online, I stumbled upon this quilt project by Teresa DownUnder on YouTube, and I was immediately hooked. I loved the fabrics that she used and how it turned out at the end, and it looked easy enough for me to try.

I bet this mini quilt’s pattern and design will look good on any other quilt project such as a table topper, table runner, etc. You can try this with other fabric prints and colors as well and have fun assembling the block units. Learn how now and see for yourself!

Materials for Moroccan Star Mini Quilt:

• Assorted print fabric
• Background fabric
• Marking pen, pencil, or chalk
• Ruler
• Needle and thread
• Scissors or rotary cutter and a cutting mat
• Iron, for pressing
• Sewing machine

How to Make a Moroccan Star Mini Quilt:

Step 1

Cut the fabrics to size, then get the large background squares, and 2 medium print squares. Place the print squares on opposite corners of the background with their right sides facing, then make sure that their edges are lined up, and then stitch them together diagonally from corner to corner.

Step 2

Trim off the excess layers, then press the fabrics open, and make another identical piece. Get 4 small print squares, then arrange them into a 4-patch block, stitch them together pressing the seams as you go, and make another identical piece.

Step 3

Now, assemble all of the block units as shown in the video, then stitch them by pair and the pairs to each other, and press the seams nicely. Make 3 more blocks, then arrange them to form the Moroccan star, then stitch them together, and give the block a good press.
