Step 1

Place a saucepan on a stove over low or medium heat, then add the blueberries and sugar, smash, and stir the berries for about 15 minutes until it turns into a sauce. Generously grease a 9x5x3 baking dish with butter, then trim off the edges of the bread, and butter them generously on one side.

Step 2

Spoon some of the sauce into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, then place 2 slices of buttered bread above the sauce and trim them if needed to make them fit. Scoop some sauce over the bread and spread it evenly, then repeat the layers until all the bread and sauce are used up.

Step 3

Cover it with aluminum foil, then place it in a preheated at 350°F, and allow it to bake for about 20 minutes. Once done baking, remove it from the oven, then let it chill overnight, and once ready to serve, unmold it from the baking dish upside down. Cut into small slices, then serve with whipped cream, and enjoy!
