I’ve tried making a melon quilt block before when I was still new to quilting and as far as I remember it was quite difficult. Recently, I found a similar video tutorial on YouTube by SewVeryEasy and it was easier than I expected, and I could finish the whole quilt within just a day!

Step 1
Download and cut out the templates, then stack 2 contrasting squares with their right sides facing, and place the template pieces on top of the wrong sides as shown in the video. Trace the shape of the template pieces, then pin them in place, and cut the shape out.
Step 2
Next, mark the notches, then mix and match the center part, and stitch them together following the curves as demonstrated in the video. Press the seams outward, then trim the block down to 8 inches, and proceed to make more blocks.
