This quilt block idea by Teresa DownUnder on YouTube is so cute and it looked so fun to make, too! True to its name, it is kind of an improvisation quilt block because the way you cut each fabric square is totally up to you. There is no set size or right or wrong way to do it, just cut however you feel like.

I love how the pattern looks so wavy and whacky, and what’s also great about this quilt block is that any combination of fabrics would definitely work. So, if you want to learn how now, then go ahead and watch the video tutorial below.
Step 1
Cut 4 squares at 10×10 inches, then stack 2 squares with their right side up, and cut a quarter circle, the wider the circle the easier it is to sew. Fold them in half and press with your finger to mark the midpoint, then mix and match the fabrics making sure to match the midpoint marks as well, and then stack them so their right sides are facing.
Step 2
Pin them together along the curves, then sew them slowly, make sure that the edges are still aligned, and remove the pins as you go. Make a few cuts along the seam careful not to cut the stitches, then press the seams toward the darker fabric, and repeat the same steps with the second block.
Step 3
Get the other 2 squares and cut a quarter circle as demonstrated in the video, then stack the 2 different blocks together, and cut another quarter circle slightly bigger than the first one. Mix and match the pieces, then stitch them together and trim all the blocks to 8.5×8.5 inches.
