Hunter’s Star is one of my favorite quilt blocks to make because it has a very beautiful pattern that’s super easy to make, even for beginners! I love working on different combinations of fabrics for this quilt and since it’s entirely made up of half-square triangles, you can play with it and experiment with the layout.

So, when I saw this Hunter’s Star pillowcase by Hello Sewing on YouTube, I clicked on it so fast and quickly watched the video tutorial. The steps are pretty simple which makes them easy to follow, and you can finish the pillowcase within just a few minutes, isn’t that amazing? Watch the video tutorial now to see for yourself.
Step 1
Cut the fabric into 10-inch squares each, then stack them together with their right sides facing, and line them diagonally from corner to corner in both directions. Stitch them on either side of the lines with ¼ inch seam allowance, then cut them along the line, and cut vertically and horizontally as well.
Step 2
Press the seams nicely and make a total of 16 half-square triangles. Cut the backing fabric into two squares at 17×12 inches, then fold one end twice at 3/8 inch, and pin them in place before stitching near the edges. Now, assemble the half-square triangles as shown in the video, then stitch them 4 blocks at a time, and stitch the blocks to each other making sure to press as you go.
Step 3
Lay the quilted piece on top of a thin batting square, then quilt it however you want, and square it up. Place the backing pieces on top with their right sides facing making sure that the folded edges are in the middle, then clip the edges securely, and sew around all sides with ¼ inch seam allowance. Turn it right side out, then poke the corner and edges nicely, and put the pillow inside.
