Materials for DIY Scarecrow Bird Feeder:
- Wooden birdhouse
- Gardening gloves
- Straw hat
- ¼ inch dowel
- Drill and ¼ inch drill bit
- Paddle bit
- Bird feeders
- Bird feeding hanging kit
- 1 roll of 36″ wide burlap fabric
- 36″ long rope
- Black paint or a large black Sharpie
- Wood glue
- Pencil
- Hot glue and glue gun
- Scissors
- Straw or hay, optional
How to Make DIY Scarecrow Bird Feeder:
Step 1
Install the lawn stakes of your bird hanging kit into the ground, then make 2 holes in your birdhouse for the eyes of the scarecrow and one for the nose, and insert the dowel into the hole for the nose.
Step 2
Secure the dowel with wood glue, then draw the smile of the scarecrow using black paint or a black Sharpie, and then attach the birdhouse to the top of the bird feeding hanging kit as shown in the video.
Step 3
Add burlap to the arms and body of the scarecrow, then use a rope for the belt, and stuff the burlap with straw or hay. Add some straw on the head of the scarecrow as well, then hot glue the straw hat on top of the head, insert the gloves into the arm and hang the bird feeders in each arm.
