It’s that time of the year again when it’s great to work on your garden or yard and make a couple of repurposed DIY projects! Today I have found one of my favorite projects to work on, and that is a bird bath. But, this DIY craft could also be used as a bird feeder or a decorative table, whatever you want would work great for sure.

What I love about this project is the fact that it’s repurposed from an item that you could already have stored somewhere in your home, and if not, then you can easily find it in the nearest thrift store, or flea market. It’s very simple to make and I’m sure that you’ll love the result just as much as I did. Learn how now with this video tutorial by mybloomsource on YouTube.

Step 1

First off, make sure that the lamp is not plugged in, then carefully remove the bottom taking care not to damage it, and then remove the electrical plug and switches.

Step 2

Remove the lamp harp socket and finial, then for this part, you can either remove the threaded pipe, and then put them back together gluing them securely in place, or you can instead make a spacer out of wood.

Step 3

If you’re making a spacer, cut a piece of wood of the same shape and size as shown in the video, then paint it the same color, and let dry completely.

Step 4

While waiting for the paint to dry, apply glue to the pipe before putting back the top nut in place, then tighten it as well as the bottom, and attach the spacer on top with a generous amount of glue.

Step 5

Mark the glass dish with a washable marker right where the center is, then apply glue on top of the spacer, and carefully place the dish over it making sure that it’s centered.

Step 6

Once the glue is dried, wash the marker, then fill the dish with whatever you want depending on how you plan to use it, either as a bird bath, bird feeder, or a simple decorative table.
