Out of all the DIY lamps that I have done, this one by Jo Earth on YouTube is my favorite! This project turned out to be so beautiful and elegant, that everyone kept asking me where I bought them, and imagine their surprise when I told them I made this beautiful lamp.

Learn how to make one on your own, too, using only cardboard, washi paper, and a couple of other crafting supplies that you may already have in your house. The steps are super easy to follow and I’m sure that you would enjoy making this project.
Step 1
Draw the shape of the petals and leaves however you want on a cardboard, then cut it out, and use them as the template. Lay the template on top of the washi paper, then trace their shapes out, and run a paintbrush dipped in water along the pencil lines.
Step 2
Score the outline with a cutter or scissors, then gently rip them out with your hand, and make 2 for each petal and leaf. Test your color swatches until desired shade, then start soaking each petal in water, and cover them with paint.
Step 3
Lay them out and allow them to dry completely, then crumple each petal for a textured look, add more lines and details to the leaves, let them dry, and crumple them as well. Straighten them out as much as you can, then place a flat object above them, and put some weights over it.
Step 4
Measure out the floral wire that you need for each piece, then sandwich it between 2 identical pieces to add some structure, and secure them with glue. Assemble the light cord, lightbulb, and leaves together as shown in the video, then secure them with hot glue. Shape and bend each petal and leaf nicely, then hang them, and light them up.
