Ingredients for Crockpot Pizza Casserole:

  • 16 ounces of Rotini pasta
  • 2 tsp of olive oil
  • 1 pound of ground Italian sausage
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of black pepper
  • 1 small or ½ cup of onions, chopped
  • (14oz) jars or 3 cups of pizza sauce
  • (10.5oz) can of cream of mushroom soup
  • 1½ cups of mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1½ cups of Colby jack cheese, divided
  • 1 cup of parmesan cheese, divided

Step 1

Boil some water in a pot, then add the pasta, and cook it just under al dente. Place a medium pan on a stove over medium heat, then add the oil, and warm it before adding the ground sausage. Break it apart, then toss and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes or until nice and brown on all sides. Once cooked through, drain off the excess grease, turn off the heat, and set it aside.

Step 2

In a large bowl, add the cooked pasta and cooked sausage, then add in the salt, black pepper, chopped onions, pizza sauce, crema of mushroom soup, and half of each cheese. Toss and mix everything until well combined, then grease the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray, and pour the mixture into it.

Step 3

Spread it evenly, then sprinkle the remaining half of each cheese all over the top, and cover the crockpot with the lid. Allow it to cook on a high setting for about 1½ to 2 hours or on a low setting for about 3 to 4 hours, then garnish with freshly chopped basil if desired, and serve. Enjoy!
