This classic quilt block is one of my favorite blocks to make of all time, it’s super easy and the pattern is simple, this type of block also requires only 2 fabrics. I’m sure quilters who prefer a minimalist and neat approach to quilts will love this project, this quilt block leaves little to no leftovers, too.

If you want to learn how to make this cracker quilt block, then proceed to read the written instructions down below, and make sure to watch this video tutorial by Teresa DownUnder on YouTube as well for more details. I hope you enjoy making this quilt as much as I did.
Step 1
Cut the print fabric into 1 square at 5×5″ and 2 rectangles at 2½x5″, then cut the solid fabric into 1 rectangle at 2½x5″ and 1 square at 4¼x4¼”. Lay the print and solid fabric rectangles vertically as shown in the video, then stitch them together, and give them a good press.
Step 2
Cut the print square in half diagonally, then stitch the triangles to the top and bottom of the strip unit, and press nicely. Cut the solid fabric in half diagonally, then stitch the rectangles on each empty side, press nicely, and trim the square into 7½”.
