There are a lot of restaurants that offer delicious fries and each of them has different versions, and one of the best fries I’ve ever tried would be those from Red Robin! The taste is so unique and unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before that’s why it stood out to me. However, the nearest Red Robin is still a drive away from home, and sometimes, I just don’t feel like traveling to eat, that’s why I thought, why not try to make it at home? Luckily enough, I found this recipe by The Slow Roasted Italian on YouTube, and it tastes just as amazing as the original.

Ingredients:

Potato Fries

  • 4 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 2 pounds of Russet potatoes, cut into wedges
  • 1 tbsp of Red Robin seasoning, divided

Homemade Red Robin Seasoning

  • 3 tbsp of salt
  • 1 tbsp of instant tomato soup mix
  • 2 tsp of chili powder
  • ¼ tsp of cumin
  • ¼ tsp of freshly ground black pepper

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F, then lightly grease two baking sheets, and set them aside. Make sure that the potatoes are clean before you start cutting them into wedges, then place them in a large mixing bowl, and drizzle about 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Give them a good toss until well coated, then set them aside, and in a small mixing bowl, mix together the salt, instant tomato soup mix, chili powder, cumin, and black pepper until uniform and well combined. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the seasoning mix all over the oiled potato wedges, then toss them all together until well coated and seasoned evenly.

Step 2

Now, divide the seasoned potatoes on the prepared baking sheets, then spread them in a single layer making sure they are spaced evenly and sprinkle the remaining or less of the seasoning mix over the potato wedges for more flavor. Place them in the preheated oven, then let them bake for about 40 minutes or until nice and crispy, and make sure to flip them over halfway through the cooking time, switch the places of the baking sheets as well. Once done baking, transfer the fries to a serving dish, then serve along with your favorite dipping sauce, and enjoy!
