This is one of the easiest projects you’ll ever make, as you only need half-square triangles to make the block. If you already know how to make one, you’ll finish this right away. But don’t worry, if you are new to this, it’s absolutely simple. Once you have all the HSTs, all you need to do is assemble them to make this beautiful pattern. How to Make a Christmas Table Runner

Step 1:

Get a light square and place a dark square on top, right sides together. Draw a line from corner to corner, then sew 1/4″ away from both sides of it. Cut directly on the line. Set the seams and press them open. Now, you have half-square triangles. Repeat with the other green and red squares. Trim them into 4 1/2″ squares.

Step 2:

Separate the green HSTs from the red HSTs.

Step 3:

Arrange the half-square triangles just like in the photo below. To make one block, you will need about 16 half-square triangles. Sew them in rows first, then sew them all together to make the block. Repeat to make 3 blocks.

Step 4:

Sew the three blocks together to make the block. Quilt, bind, and enjoy sewing!
