Directions:

Step 1

To start, cut all the fabric requirements and label them accordingly. Next, mark a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of the white 5″ square as well as the four dark aqua 4 1/2″ squares. For the half-square triangle unit, line up the white  5″ square and the pink 5″ square, then sew a 1/4″ seam from either side of the drawn line. Cut it along the center afterward, press open, and trim one to 4 1/2″ square (set aside the other unit). Next, for the flying geese corner units, place the light gold 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangle beside the half-square triangle unit, sew them together, and press. After this, sew the light gold 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangle to the previous unit, then press.

Step 2

Next, lay out one of the dark aqua 4 1/2″ squares, and sew a thread or two away from the drawn line. After this, match up the corners of dark aqua squares, press, and trim away the excess allowance. Refold the dark aqua to complete the first flying geese corner. Now, repeat the previous steps, substituting only the light aqua rectangles for the light gold rectangles. After this, repeat the previous steps again, this time, substituting the light yellow rectangles. Finally, repeat the steps again, substituting the medium aqua rectangles. Once done, press the seam allowances outward.
