I have always wanted to make a cathedral window quilt but have been afraid to try because I think they are too difficult to do, especially for beginners like me. When I finally decided to give it a go, I found this video tutorial by Teresa DownUnder on YouTube, and it was one of the best projects I ever did in a while!

It was surprisingly easy to make as opposed to my first impression and I am going to make this again using other combinations of fabrics. If you’re interested in learning this quilt block as well, then see the instructions and video tutorial below.
Step 1
Cut the cream fabric into a 10 inches square, then place a 9-inch square cardboard in the center of the fabric, and fold over the edges. Press them nicely, remove the cardboard, and keep pressing the edges down the sides. Fold it over in half, then press it, fold it again in half, and give it a good press.

Step 2
Open the fabric, fold the corners toward the center, and press as you go. Fold the top corner down the center, then pin it in place, and repeat on the rest of the points. Make 3 more of these for a total of 4, assemble them in pairs in 2 rows, and stitch them together as shown in the video.
Step 3
Stitch the points to the center of each block unit, then prepare the small print squares, and place them in the center. Flip the edges over to the side of the print squares, then stitch them as close to the edges as possible, and finish the quilt block as demonstrated in the video.
