Materials:

  • Liquid stainless steel range and dishwasher kit
  • Painter’s tape
  • Window cleaner
  • Tissue
  • Scissors
  • White primer spray paint
  • Black spray paint
  • Goo gone latex paint remover
  • Blade

Directions:

Step 1

Start off by planning which part of your appliance you want to cover with steel paint, which you want to be black, and which you want to remain as is. Sand the area that you will be painting with sandpaper, then wipe them clean with a tissue and some window cleaner. Next, cover the areas with painter’s tape, then leave only the part that you’ll be painting black and stainless steel, and cover the rest of the appliances around the area with plastic to keep them safe from any splash of paint. Now, start spraying the appliance with a white primer coat, then let it dry completely before applying another layer, and once completely dry, paint with black, let dry, and remove the tape.

Step 2

After painting some areas black, cover them with painter’s tape leaving only the area that you want to be stainless steel uncovered. Now, start applying the first coat swiping from left to right consistently, it might take about 4 coats in total until you achieve full coverage, make sure to give the paint enough drying time in between each application. Once completely dry, coat the whole area with the final glossy paint that comes with the kit, the more coat you add the glossier it will be. Peel off the tapes, then apply some Goo gone paint remover to areas that are accidentally painted using tissue, then leave it for a few minutes, and scrape it off with a blade or something similar. Once all of them are removed, you can start retouching those areas if needed.
