This Santa hat quilt by Lori Holt on YouTube is cute and festive to add to your sewing room or to gift to someone as a Christmas gift. This quilting project is great if you have a lot of scrappy fabrics that you need to use too. It’s a great way to make use of it instead of throwing it out or go to waste. I love how organized she is with all of her fabric scraps, and it makes me want to help my mom organize all of her fabric. Since I do not sew, I love watching projects come together because it’s impressive. This is such a creative quilt that doesn’t require design work except stitching fabric scraps together.

Supplies:

  • background fabric
  • hat fabric
  • brim and pom pom fabric
  • (all of the measurements depend on how big you are making your quilt also skip to 4:50 timestamp for her exact measurements)

Directions:

First, start off and measure all of the stash blocks for your quilt. Then, start with the smallest piece first to add to the block. Sew corner to corner on this block. Continue to watch Lori Holt tutorial on YouTube for full instructions and details.

Overall, I love how you can make this quilt any size and I love how she made a huge one. This would be a time-consuming project if you’re doing a big quilt, but it would be easier once you get all of your fabric scraps organized into the right measurements and size. The embroidery with the name on the quilt is very sweet, and it makes the quilt a nice personalized gift for the holidays.

Since I lover experiments, Iโ€™ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
