This DIY rope pumpkin by Repurpose And Upcycle on YouTube is so simple and easy to make. I love how this only requires a few supplies such as rope, hot glue gun, paper, and rubber bands. Pumpkin is such a cute way to decorate the house and it’s an inexpensive DIY to do. Plus, you can probably purchase all of these supplies at Dollar Tree. I love the look of sisal ropes, and it’s such a natural look. Also, you can decorate these pumpkins with Fall leaves and hot glue some of the pumpkins together to make a centerpiece. This little holiday project doesn’t take any skill to make either, and it would be easy to make a dozen of these in one sitting.

Supplies:

  • hot glue gun
  • scissors
  • rubber bands
  • heavy brown packing paper
  • sisal rope

Directions:

First, crumple the paper into a ball, and use rubber bands to mold the paper to hold it together.

Next, slide the rope under the rubber band, and start to hot glue the rope in a circle. Continue to wrap the rope with the hot glue. When you get to the top, cut the rope so you leave a “stem.” Mold the pumpkin by placing pressure in certain areas.

Overall, this is an easy hot glue gun project to work on in the Fall for decoration. Cut and display the pumpkins however you like. It’s a great seasonal project if you’re on a budget. I can’t believe how adding a little rope over a piece of paper can add beautiful decor to a room. Also, I think there can be another ways to decorate these pumpkins such as painting them. These are super adorable and would be a great gift to give.
