This adorable gnome with miniature flip flops is the perfect addition to your beach house, patio, or any space needing a splash of summer cheer. It’s quick and easy and would make a great weekend project with your friends or family. The best part? It’s inexpensive and only needs a few crafting materials!
To start, paint the gnome’s feet as well as the nails with the color of your choice and let them dry. Paint the round wood ball too in a beige color. Once dry, varnish them to lock in the color. Next, fluff the pompom and set it aside. Get the pliers, bend the end of the wire into a V shape, and friction fit it right into the gnome’s feet. Repeat it to the other feet.
Once done, cut the wire into your desired height (depending on how long you like the legs of your gnome), then set them aside. Now, cut the hanging string of the pompom to kind of open it up. Turn down the top of the wire, then press it in. After this, position the legs inside the pompom until you hit the back. Glue those looped wires directly to the back side of that fabric.
Take out additional floof inside the pompom, then only glue a 1/4″ away from the edge, then sandwich the whole thing. Now, join the two pieces at the bottom using hot glue. Set it aside. Next, make the sunglasses by tracing/drawing a pair of sunglasses to the felt, then cut it out. Once done, glue the nose and the sunglasses to the pompom to finish the gnome.
