You never know when you might lose power and you may need to have an emergency refrigeration plan on hand to preserve some of the food that is in the ordinary refrigerator. Materials For The DIY Flower Pot Refrigerator:

  • 2 terracotta flower pots (one smaller than the other)
  • Sand
  • Water
  • A wet tea towel
  • 2 bricks (to elevate the pots)
  • A piece of duct tape (to place over the holes at the bottom of the pots)

Then, you will add the sand in between the 2 pots and wet the sand. You will elevate the DIY cooler using a couple of bricks, and place a damp tea towel over the top and your food will start to cool very quickly.
