Disney always makes flowers look so magical in their movies. They’re vibrant, enchanting, and beautiful. I’ve always wanted to create a DIY flower decor that encapsulates that same feeling. So, I experimented with faux flowers and a tealight candle, and made this stunning flower piece. I’m really proud how it turned out. It looks like it’s straight out of a movie scene! Place it on your side table with some fairy lights, and you have the perfect cozy reading space.

The best thing about this project is that you don’t need to make it entirely from scratch. You do, however, need a high-quality faux flower to make it look realistic. I got mine from DAISO, but I am sure you can find great options in other craft stores. Just be sure to pick the large ones. If you are feeling extra crafty, you can even make your own petals using crepe paper to mimic the natural texture of real flowers.

Cut the petals
Disassemble the faux flower and cut it into individual petals. For this project, I used 12 yellow petals in different sizes (8 large and 4 small) plus 4 large pink petals.

Cut the spoons
Cut the handles off four spoons.

Glue the petals to the spoon
Glue large yellow petals to the back of each spoon. Make sure they don’t completely cover it.

Hot glue the spoons to the candle light
Glue them one by one around the tea light candle.

Glue petals to the bottom
Cover the bottom part with the remaining petals.

Add the pink petals
Once you’re done with the yellow petals, glue the pink petals.

Trim
Trim the bottom.

Glue the small leaves
Cut the sepals(the leaves at the bottom of the faux rose) into individual pieces, then glue them around the bottom of the rose.

Glue the big leaves
Glue the large leaves at the base of the rose, then trim as needed.
