Materials:

  • three bags of vase filler gems (or as needed)
  • pencil, for marking
  • ruler
  • premixed tile adhesive
  • small notch trowel
  • 1 cup of grout mixed with 1/2 cup of water
  • caulk

Directions:

Step 1

Wash your gems thoroughly and leave them out to dry. Next, plan out where you will put the gems. When you finally decided, use a pencil and ruler to mark out the area. After this, apply a thin coat of premixed tile adhesive using a small notched trowel in the designated area. Now, press the gems into the adhesive, placing them creatively and however you like.

Step 2

Work in small sections and just put the tile adhesive as you go (this will prevent the tile adhesive to dry out too quickly). Once you’re done, mix one cup of grout and half a cup of water. Apply the grout in small sections, making sure you’re pushing in between each of the gems. (Don’t push hard, as you might remove some of the gems.) Leave it for one hour, then wipe away the excess grout with plain water. Apply caulk in the area where the sink and the gems meet and smoothen it out with your finger.
