This DIY acrylic pour ornament by Mixed Media Girl on YouTube is so satisfying to watch when the different colors of paint merge together. There are so many ways to get creative with this tutorial such as adding glitter or other materials. She shows two ways to make this ornament: dirty pour and clean pour. I love how different the pours turn out in the end, and it would be a fun Christmas craft to do with your kids. It’s easy to make different kinds of acrylic pour ornaments. I would love to make an ornament with the traditional Christmas colors. Plus, this can be a great gift to give someone and then paint on their first letter of their name. These ornaments can become super classy depending how you dress them up and what colors you use.

Supplies:

  • Plastic ball ornaments
  • Artist’s Loft Flow Acrylics
  • Craftsmart acrylic paint
  • Rustoleum crystal clear enamel spray
  • Floetrol
  • Water
  • popsicle sticks
  • rectangle foam

Directions:

First, stick popsicle sticks onto a rectangular foam so that the paint does not get everywhere. Then, pour different colors of paint into a cup and pour the mixed paint over the plastic ball slowly. Make sure to cover the entire ball, and pour from the top of the ball.

Next, for the clean pour, pour the paint straight from the bottles. This uses more paint, but adds a different effect.

Overall, I love this idea of ornament, and it looks so cool. The marble effect is amazing, and it’s so easy. It depends on which look you would like for the ornament and each pour are unique in their own way. I think I like how the clean pour has a few openings where you can see through the plastic ball. They are not complicated and looks super elegant.
