Ingredients:

  • Russet potatoes
  • 1 – 2 tbsp duck fat, melted
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
  • butter, sour cream, and green onions to garnish (optional)

Directions:

Step 1

To start, prick some holes all over the potato using a fork. Once done, microwave the potato for five minutes. (Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F at this point.) After you microwave the potato, brush it with duck fat, making sure the whole potato is properly coated, then season it with 1/2 tbsp salt, 1/2 tbsp garlic powder, and 1/2 tbsp ground black pepper on all sides.

Step 2

Now, put the potato directly on the oven rack, and just place a baking sheet wrapped with aluminum foil below to catch any juices from the potato. Bake it for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the skin is crispy with the touch of a fork. After baking, cut a slit in the middle and add some butter, sour cream, and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve and enjoy!
