It is healthier as it is low in calories – approximately 112 per serving. It has the same consistency as ice cream and tastes like it as well. I am a coffee lover, and whenever I want a healthier alternative, I make this recipe.

To achieve the same consistency as ice cream, she used an ice cream maker. If you don’t have one, do not worry, as there is an alternative way to do it. Some people freeze the mixture into cubes and then use their blender to make it smooth and creamy. You can do that, but there is another way if you don’t have a blender at home. However, it will take more time and you have to do it repeatedly. The instructions are written below.

Homemade Coffee Frozen Yogurt Ingredients

  • 3 cups of non-fat or full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of sweetener (or more)
  • 1 tablespoon of instant coffee (or espresso)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 oz of chopped dark chocolate

How to Make Coffee-Flavored Frozen Yogurt

Step 1:

Add the Greek yogurt into a large bowl, followed by 1/2 cup of sweetener, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Stir everything well. Be sure that the amount of sweetener is more than what you because the sweetness will be different when you freeze it.

Step 2:

Add the instant coffee to the mixture and fold until well combined and smooth. Make a taste test and adjust the sweetener if needed.

Step 3:

Transfer the mixture to an ice cream mixer and turn it on for 15 to 20 minutes. A few minutes before it’s done, add the chopped dark chocolate.

If you don’t have an ice cream mixer, you can place it in a freeze-proof bowl, cover it, and then freeze for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, fold everything together. Do the same process every 30 minutes for two more hours.

Step 4:

Serve immediately or transfer to a freeze-proof container and freeze. If you freeze it, make sure to place it in the fridge for about an hour before serving.
